Green spaces
& trails.
Old Fourth Ward is one of Atlanta's greenest neighborhoods — and the BeltLine makes it one of the most connected. Whether you're running the trail, skating the park, or just finding a quiet bench by the pond, O4W has a spot for you.
Where to get
outside.
Historic Fourth Ward Park
The neighborhood's crown jewel — a 17-acre green space built on top of a former railroad cut. The park features a spring-fed pond with a fountain, an amphitheater for concerts, a playground, and plenty of open lawn for picnics and pickup games.
Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark
Designed by Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam, this is one of the best public skateparks in the Southeast. Features deep bowls, street elements, and a welcoming vibe for skaters and spectators alike.
Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail
The most popular section of the Atlanta BeltLine runs directly through O4W. This multi-use trail connects Piedmont Park to the south and Ponce City Market to the north, passing through a corridor of public art, food trucks, and some of the best people-watching in Atlanta.
Piedmont Park
Atlanta's largest and most beloved park, just a short walk south from O4W via the BeltLine. Features a swimming pool, sports fields, a dog park, farmers market, and stunning Midtown skyline views. The unofficial backyard of the entire city.
Krog Street Tunnel
More than a tunnel — it's Atlanta's living canvas. This railroad underpass connects O4W to Inman Park and is covered floor-to-ceiling in street art that changes constantly. A must-see for anyone walking or biking through the neighborhood.
